Frequently Asked Questions
Can I sign up online?
No. You can send me a message to begin a discussion about my services but I personally approve and set-up all new accounts.
Can I pay online?
Although I prefer payment by check, I can send you an invoice via PayPal. This is normally only done on request, but you can request it as your normal payment method.
What is Lotus Petal Designs?
Lotus Petal Designs is simply the name I, Toni Porter, have been freelancing under since 2006. All services are provided by me, although I reserve the right to sub-contract out portions of large projects to trusted business partners. At the end of the day, I hold myself personally responsible for the satisfaction of all customers.
How reliable is your hosting?
Our servers have a 99% uptime guarantee, although you must contact us to alert us to any downtime in order to claim credit. Also, any downtime must be due to the server - meaning that if your site is down due to exceeding its allotted bandwidth, or due to actions by you or your agents that caused the site to go down while the server is still operating - this will not count as down time. Credit for downtime will be proportional to the amount of time down and will be applied to future invoices. Money will not be refunded, instead of credited, unless you are leaving our hosting service.
If you are interested in the technical details on redundancy or who provides our services, please contact me or read our Terms and Conditions.

Can other people update the sites you create?
Yes. Some site are actually designed so that you or others can easily update them (like WordPress sites). All sites are coded primarily in HTML/CSS/PHP so that any web professional can edit the behind the scenes parts.
If you contract me only for web design, the entire design is yours to do with what you like, once final payment is received and I turn the site over to you or your hosting provider.
If you use my hosting, you are free to access your site on our server at any time or provide login/FTP information to others.
The only catch is that you are then responsible for any and all actions taken on your account by yourself or anyone you provide access to. This means that if you give your login to a friend, and they crash your site, I will bill you to put it back to normal unless it is covered by your Managed Hosting plan.
